Atlanta – Tuesday – Saturday 8:30 – 5:30 by appointment only

This extraordinary 36-hole member-owned private facility is located in Alpharetta, just north of Atlanta, and is considered one of the finest golfing experiences in the country. The club prides itself on respect and tradition of the game, camaraderie, hospitality and immaculate playing conditions.

Both courses – Lakeside and Creekside -- were designed by Arthur Hills and offer uniquely different playing experiences. Lakeside, home of The United States Collegiate Championship since 2006, is a modern-style course that features fast, undulating greens. In 1991, it was honored by Golf Digest as the “Best New Private Course in America.” Creekside, a wetlands-style course, places a premium on accuracy and shot-making, and like Lakeside, has played host to The Georgia Cup. In 1999, the 607-yard par-5 11th hole was honored by Golf Digest as one of “America’s Best 99 Holes.”

Bill Johnstone

Certified Fitter

Bill grew up in New England and has a soft spot in his heart for the Boston Red Sox and Villanova basketball. Although he has twice shot 64 in competition, he considers a 79 posted in freezing rain and 39-degree weather even more satisfying. His favorite course is the Kings Course in Gleneagles, Scotland and he would love to play Royal Melbourne in Australia. Bill’s favorite professional golfer is Joe Kirkwood, a renowned Australian trick shot artist and the head pro at Stowe Country Club.

Were he not in the golf fitting business, Bill has no doubt he would be a rock star. He has music in his blood, once working as a music teacher and band director before he turned professional. During one concert, he got a bit too animated and the baton flew out of his hand and wound up in the woodwind section. Nobody was hurt, but a clarinet player got a big hand from the crowd for returning the baton. Asked if he has ever fit a celebrity, Bill said, “Yes, but the ball obviously didn’t recognize him.”
